This is a most interesting piece… I must admit that having first encountered it… I put it up as a shawl…. but the size was wrong… It was too long…. and… this is a great story… I was recently at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, viewing an exhibit… and while wandering through the room of European paintings… here was a portrait of a woman with a waist sash…that WAS MY PIECE!!!! so … all is worked out… I am proud to present this lovely silk sash as a Civil War era sash fashioned of a pink silk with a lovely fringed bottom.
