The offering here is part of a collection with an interesting pedigree. Long ago, north of Ypsilanti, Michigan (just down the street from Ann Arbor) in a large barn was a studio where porn movies were shot decades ago now. As a cash starved musician then, I hired on as “assistant” to the director which translated meant that I was the gofer and did everything from pushing a broom, keeping the bongs and booze flowing though I actually did have hand at setting up lighting, cameras and props. Recently, I had occasion to meet on with one of the former “stars” who suggested I might want to meet with the new owners. The barn now holds various farm implements and cars in various states of restoration and the (now) owners always wondered why there was a plush, large, three sided bedroom set within, complete with shag carpeting and a capricious bed when they acquired it. They had no idea of the history. Nor that there were secret compartments big enough to hold three adults along with food, water and a variety of other things, like the finished reels (this was long before videos) and props. This was at a time when porn was in a quasi gray legal area until the USA Supreme Court settled the issue. Should the event of a raid to occur, the compartments were to be used to hide, literally. One of the things in those compartments was a large cache of nylon stockings, part of what is here. They were so well hidden that no one noticed until I pointed them out, having been stashed for decades along with various other sundries. Now most porn is pretty basic, plot less and ho-hum boring and for the record, I was never on camera nor have I ever to this day seen a completed work from these efforts and the other participants were like me, students or the like looking for bucks. Some now own businesses, some are dead and others are doing things like eBay. Though most porn corn contains relatively few stocking scenes, the producers decided to keep a large stash on hand just for those shots. Micro mesh fabric was preferable in this capacity; it is less fragile then flat knits, resists snags and takes more abuse in “heavy” physical play and as the leg attire was secondary to the action, they were utilized. So, as Paul Harvey might say, “Now you know the rest of the story”. The best part is that these could be yours, video camera or not…and there are more to come from this stash.
